Cardiac Arrest Due to Severe Vasovagal Response After Spinal Anaesthesia in Caesarean Section: Case Report

چکیده
Introduction and importance: The vasovagal response is a reflex action that causes cardiovascular depression, bradycardia, loss of consciousness. It important to be aware the risk factors for pathophysiology must managed once it occurs. Case presentation: A 28-year-old mother was admitted Ambo University Hospital an emergency cesarean section. She received spinal anesthesia with bupivacaine 12.5 milligrams isobaric, after T4 blockade reached, surgery initiated. few seconds later, patient’s heart rate, consciousness, oxygen saturation, blood pressure dropped then immediately cardiopulmonary resuscitation started adrenaline fluid administered. After minutes, vital signs recovered. And careful monitoring in intensive care unit 24 hours, patient discharged obstetrics department her home 2 days later without leaving any specific sequelae. This case demonstrates potentially serious damage during section, particularly placental expulsion. Discussion: Vasovagal secondary uterine retraction rare phenomenon, which results decrease rate pressure, finally cardiac arrest. So know warning early beginning recitations. Conclusion: unanticipated can cause severe consequences. Therefore, lessons we learned from this were history-taking preoperative evaluation; proper management preload, recognition responses through monitoring, timely treatment hemodynamic collapse. HighlightThe may manipulation.Vasovagal reflexes arrest.Spinal sympathetic nervous system block hypotension.

Severe vasovagal attack during regional anaesthesia for caesarean section.
A patient experienced a severe vasovagal attack during regional anaesthesia for elective Caesarean section. The combination of vagal over-activity and sympathetic block produced profound hypotension that threatened the life of the mother and infant. The vasovagal syndrome is described, and its prevention and management discussed.
متن کاملIntracerebral haematoma following spinal anaesthesia for caesarean section: case report.
Several complications are known to occur with spinal anaesthesia and all of them are easily recognizable. We report the case of a 25 year old woman presenting with intracerebral hemorrhage secondary to spinal anaesthesia for caesarean section. She underwent surgical evacuation of the haematoma with complete recovery. The relevant literature is also reviewed.
متن کاملVasovagal cardiac arrest during spinal anesthesia for Cesarean section -A case report-
The vasovagal response is characterized by an inappropriate combination of bradycardia and paradoxical vasodilation. During a general or neuraxial anesthesia-induced sympathectomy, a sudden vagal activation and/or an acute reduction in sympathetic tone can cause serious vasovagal responses. Neuraxial anesthesia for Cesarean section may trigger vasovagal response, due to multiple risk factors; h...
متن کاملUnnecessary emergency caesarean section due to silent CTG during anaesthesia?
We present a case of a probably unnecessary Caesarean section due to misinterpretation of the cardiotocography (CTG) trace during general anaesthesia. A 27-yr-old patient in her 30th week of an uneventful, normal first pregnancy presented with a deep venous thrombosis in the pelvic region. She was to undergo an emergency thrombectomy under general anaesthesia. During the operation, the CTG show...
متن کاملOccult Spinal Dysraphism in Obstetrics: A Case Report of Caesarean Section with Subarachnoid Anaesthesia after Remifentanil Intravenous Analgesia for Labour
Neuraxial techniques of anaesthesia and analgesia are the current choice in obstetrics for efficacy and general low risk of major complications. Concern exists about neuraxial anaesthesia in patients with occult neural tube defects, regarding both labour analgesia and anaesthesia for Caesarean section. Recently, remifentanil infusion has been proposed as an analgesic technique alternative to lu...
